It is no secret that Easter weekend is a great time to get outdoors and turn your garden into a green and floral oasis.
Therefore, the Lazy Flora team have put together some top tips to prepare your garden for Easter weekend:
Create a plan of action
As the weather brightens and everyone starts discussing their garden plans, it is easy to get overwhelmed with ideas. However, it’s best to slow down, research and really think about what you are putting where. There is nothing more satisfying than your space thriving and taking time to plan will only increase the chances of this. So, seeing as it’s Easter and the bank holiday gives you two more days of gardening, pop the kettle on and help yourself to a hot cross bun whilst forming that fool proof plan.
Plant hardy herbs
With the temperatures rising and the risk of frost decreasing, Easter weekend is a great time to get your hardy herbs in the garden. Herbs such as basil, mint and chives will grow comfortably outside from early April. Growing your own herbs is not just a great feeling when you harvest but it will also help reduce the environmental impact of your cooking as your food shop miles turn to metres and no plastic packaging is involved.

Add some colourful flowers
To achieve quick results and get immediate satisfaction in your garden we recommend planting some outdoor plants already in bloom. Get creative with your colour combinations to make your outdoor space uniquely yours!
Our outdoor subscription boxes arrive on your doorstep in full bloom.
Plant those potatoes
Planting potatoes at Easter time is a tradition for many gardeners.
Within a few weeks small green shoots will appear through the surface of the compost. These will quickly develop into leafy potato stems and you will need to water the bag every week, even when it has been raining.
It takes around 16 weeks from planting the seed potatoes to harvest. So, start the process off at Easter and you will be harvesting just before the end of July.
If you are new to growing vegetables, potatoes are a great place to start as all they really require is a lot of water! You can get everything you need to yield a good crop in our potato growing kit.
We hope you enjoy the long Easter weekend and join us in our dance for nice weather!
