Philodendron Prince of Orange

Philodendron Prince of Orange

Orange you glad to see this one in our shop!? A beautiful and unique Philodendron which, unlike most, grows leaves from its centre instead of from stems or vines. It produces glossy, vibrant orange leaves which change colour over time. New growth comes through in a shade of sunshine yellow and changes to a coppery orange, before settling on a darker shade of green as the plant matures.

This is a rare, iconic plant which will add a tropical cheerfulness to your plant collection.

How to care for your Philodendron Prince of Orange

Native habitat

Man-made hybrid of Philodendron spp. from Central and South America.

Light and position in the home

This plant will need a lot of bright, indirect light to maintain the gorgeous colours of it's leaves. Avoid direct sunlight which can cause leaf scorch. If you notice the leaves turning green straight away, it could be a a sign of too little light.

Water thoroughly and then allow the top soil to dry out before watering again. In winter, water sparingly but don't allow soil to dry out completely. Remember to always use luke-warm water for your tropical houseplants as cold water can shock them.
