Bird's Nest Fern | 12cm | Houseplant

Asplenium Antiquum

£12.99

As if being proven to be one of the top air-purifying plants on the planet by none other than NASA wasn't quite enough, the Asplenium is also super pet friendly, and just happens to be one of the toughest plants to kill that we have ever shipped*!

That's a lot of boxes ticked, and we haven't even started admiring the incredible lime green leaves! It's perfect for a beginner plant parent. It's super undemanding in terms of light, so is an ideal plant for low-light areas, which many other plants will not enjoy.

*Although the Asplenium is reasonably tolerant of the odd dry spell, don't let it dry out completely, as the leaves will crisp up. You got this!

Comes in a 12cm pot.

How to care for your Bird's Nest Fern | 12cm | Houseplant

Native habitat

Bird's nest fern is native to the wild landscapes of East Asia, China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.

Light and position in the home

Like most ferns, a shaded spot is preferred over direct sunlight. Anywhere set back from a window should be ideal.

Watering and humidity

Avoid watering Asplenium directly onto the centre rosette as this could cause rot, instead water into the soil. Keep the soil moist year-round but reduce watering in Winter, do not allow the plant to sit in water.
