Calathea Marion

Calathea roseopicta 'Marion'

A wonderful addition to the 'prayer plant' family, this Calathea cultivar has gorgeous oval shaped leaves with a striking silvery band lining the edges of the leaves. We just love the contrasting patterns on the leaf surface and the deep burgundy hue underneath which is displayed as the leaves fold up at night.

It makes a beautiful stand alone plant, or adds something special to a grouping of houseplants. Calatheas are known as the divas of the plant world, however, once you find the right balance for them, the pay off is so worth it.

Comes in a 17cm pot.

How to care for your Calathea Marion

Native habitat

Native to South American rainforests.

Light and position in the home

This plant loves indirect light but does not enjoy direct sunlight as this will burn the leaves. North, East or West-facing rooms are suitable. It won't thrive in a dark location.

Water once the top 1-2 inches of the soil is dry to the touch. This could be around once per week but this can vary depending on the time of year, amount of light etc, so it's always best to test the soil using your finger.
