Where to grow Coleus plants
Coleus are a very easy to look after plant species that can be left to itself if it’s basic needs are met. Choose a location that has a well- draining soil and receives partial or dappled shade throughout the day.
How to grow Coleus plants
Water lightly to keep the soil moist, but not wet and mix in some diluted liquid fertilizer once a month during the spring and summer months. Coleus plants are tender perennials, which means they won't survive in cold weather. Bring your plant indoors in autumn or take cuttings in summer that can be grown on for new plants the following spring. Once planted, pinch out the growing tip (central stem) to encourage a bushier plant. Keep plants well-watered in summer, especially if they are growing in pots.
