Where to grow marigolds
A marigold will grow best in a well-drained soil that receives full sun throughout the day.
How to grow marigolds
Marigolds will establish themselves quickly in the garden and after that will need little to no care. Water regularly to keep the soil moist, but not wet and let the soil dry out between watering. Increase the frequency of watering in hot weather. The foliage of the marigold is easy to rot so you should always water at the base of the plant to stop mildew building up on the foliage. Deadhead dying blooms to promote new growth, but marigold flowers are long lasting so you will not have to do this often. Pinch back the top of the plant to remove dead blooms and encourage new growth whilst heling the plats to fill out properly. Do not fertilize your plants at all during the growing season, doing so will improve the vibrancy of the foliage at the expense of the flowers.
