Monkey mask

Monstera adansonii

The mighty Monstera is one of the most iconic plants of our time, and it's no wonder. With its uniquely patterned and striking leaves, it makes a statement in any room. It's native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, and as such requires bright, indirect light and regular watering to ensure it does not dry out.

Monstera Adansonii is a fast-growing plant that will climb anything it can get hold of, or trail attractively over mantlepieces or windowsills. It's low maintenance and remarkably hardy.

How to care for your Monkey mask

Native habitat

Tropical rainforests of Central and South America.

Light and position in the home

Bright indoor light with no strong direct sunlight.

When the top 2-4cm are dry, water the soil of your monstera. This is a fairly drought-tolerant plant, so you don't need to water it all the time - every couple of weeks should suffice, but use your judgement. Water more frequently during the growing season and reduce at other times.
