Plant in full sun and ensure the soil is very well-draining, as oregano suffers in heavy, wet soils. Your Oregano can also be grown in pots and repotted every couple of years.
Oregano does not require as much watering as some herbs and will only need water once the top few inches of soil is dry. It's best to water thoroughly and less often.
Bring a spicy kick to your kitchen garden with Oregano 'hot and spicy'. It's just as easy to grow as the regular Greek oregano, but has the addition of heat similar to that of a mild chilli pepper. It adds spice and flavour to many dishes, particularly chillis, soups, salsas, sauces and salads. The leaves can be picked as often as needed and used fresh or can be dried for later use. Cut your plant back every so often to promote new fresh growth.
