Swiss Cheese Plant - with a moss pole

Monstera deliciosa

The mighty Monstera is one of the most iconic plants of our time, and it's no wonder. With shiny, uniquely patterned and striking leaves, it makes a statement in any room. It is commonly known as the Swiss Cheese plant or just Cheese plant due to the leaf splits or holes in the leaves that develop as they grow that resemble the holes in some Swiss varieties of cheese.

This plant is native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America, and as such requires bright, indirect light and regular watering to ensure it does not dry out.

This large Swiss Cheese plant comes with a moss pole to keep it growing upright.

How to care for your Swiss Cheese Plant - with a moss pole

Native habitat

Tropical rainforests of Central and South America.

Light and position in the home

Bright indoor light with no strong direct sunlight is best for this plant.

When the top 2-4cm are dry, water the soil of your monstera. This is a fairly drought-tolerant plant, so you don't need to water it all the time - every couple of weeks should suffice, but use your judgement. Water more frequently during the growing season and reduce at other times.
