Operations Assistant

Lazy Flora Operations Assistant job advert

As Operations Assistant, you'll be responsible for supporting our shipping team. You'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with our Head of Operations and Packing Team.

This is a part-time position based in our Nottingham warehouse, initially for 3 months, with the possibility to extend.

We're looking for a highly organised person with excellent communication skills. You don't need to know a lot about plants, but you must be willing to learn multiple aspects of the business, and you need to be adaptable to changing working conditions, and calm in a crisis (having said that, even though we're a startup, we're generally pretty organized).

We're a friendly bunch at Lazy Flora, and culture is very important to us. You will need to be a strong team player, and fit in with the existing team, as well as bringing your own magic that will help the team grow and change. We value empathy, kindness, a sense of humour, and humility. We like people who are willing to throw themselves into a situation and get sh*t done. You'll have to use your initiative.

The ideal candidate will be someone who embodies these qualities, and who has strong strategic tendencies. You'll have a good awareness of what is important to the business and will instinctively know how to prioritise.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:

o Preparing digital shipping labels

o Keeping excellent records of the deliveries that leave our warehouse

o Inventory checking and recording, and flagging at appropriate times when orders are needed.

o Ensuring the team meets deadlines; flagging risks where deadlines are in danger

o Ensuring in-house team have all they need to be able to ship

o Keeping records and preparing reports on warehouse performance

We're a small team and everyone needs to pull their weight. We're looking for a jack of all trades, with bags of smart initiative, and prepared to do what it takes to ensure the business succeeds, whether that be preparing an Excel or powerpoint report one day, or packing boxes and replacing printer cartridges the next.

Lazy Flora delivers beautiful plants, on subscription. We're like Hello Fresh for plants. We have just raised £89k on Seeders and are looking for a talented new team member to work closely with our Nottingham warehouse team, initially on a part-time contract basis. Some of this work can be done remotely, but you will need to be able to attend in person at the warehouse for many of the tasks.

We're looking for someone we can rely on to get key tasks done; someone who requires minimal management and is a proven self-starter. You might be a very experienced worker looking for part-time work, someone with young kids, or you might be an exceptional graduate, we don't mind. We'll know when we find the right person.

Please email claire@lazyflora.com telling us why you are a good fit for this role and with a link to your up-to-date LinkedIn profile, or copy of your CV.
