Product Manager/Product Buyer
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is at the very heart of an exciting and fast-growing startup. Reporting directly to Founder and CEO, our Product Manager will design and source products that will amaze and delight our engaged and loyal customers.
TASKS WILL INCLUDE
o The core of this role will be to source new plants and pots for Lazy Flora, to supply our existing product lines.
o Alongside the Founder, develop concepts for new products and coordinate sourcing, delivery, marketing and go-live to the website.
o Develop a product timeline for all products on the Lazy Flora website to time in with key gifting events and calendar events.
o Place orders for products, ensuring they are within budget and within our delivery capabilities (helping build our our delivery capabilities if not).
o Manage timelines for delivery and effectively communicate this with the team, ensuring it is clear what stock is on order at any given time.
o Maintain existing strong relationship with current plant and sundries suppliers, build out more excellent relationships with new suppliers.
o Ensure Lazy Flora is getting the best value for money at all times.
o Delivering products that will inspire and delight our customers (and you!)
o Review company data to understand which products are performing strongly, and develop products based on the knowledge you gain from this.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
o Great work ethic, self-motivated, get things done kind of personality.
o You don't wait to be told what to do and you're able to make smart decisions, quickly.
o Highly organised and able to stick to regular weekly purchasing deadlines as well as ad hoc schedules.
o Commercially savvy and business minded, handy with a spreadsheet (but you don't need to be an expert).
o Excellent communication, both written and spoken.
o Ability to empathise strongly with our customers and pre-empt products that will be popular with them.
o Excellent knowledge of indoor and outdoor plants and their care, although you don't need to be an RHS-qualified gardener.
o If you don't have experience of working in ecommerce, you have a very good understanding of the ecommerce landscape and the value of Lazy Flora's proposition.
o Ability to cope with uncertainty and a fast-changing landscape. We're a startup: we leap on the opportunity when it arises and listen hard to what our customers are telling us.
o You're comfortable with learning on the job. If something isn't working, we drop it fast and move on.

REQUIREMENTS
The majority of this role can be done remotely, but will occasionally require travel to our warehouse in Nottingham (for example, for key photo shoots that you may be required to coordinate).
This is a 3-month contract position initially, with scope to extend into a permanent role for the right person. Immediate start.
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Lazy Flora delivers beautiful plants, on subscription. We're like Hello Fresh for plants. We have just raised £89k on Seeders and are looking for a talented new team member to work closely with our Nottingham warehouse team, initially on a part-time contract basis. Some of this work can be done remotely, but you will need to be able to attend in person at the warehouse for many of the tasks.
